Oldham is commemorating VJ Day – the end of WWII – on August 14 and 15 by hosting an exhibition near the market hall shops in the town centre.
As part of the exhibition the exhibits will be populated with stories from people about theirs and their families memories of WW2. The Council are asking for Oldham residents to send through stories and photographs they have and would like to share. There is also a WW2 themed poster competition for young people to submit their artwork which will form part of the exhibit.
Please email them to cath.ball@oldham.gov.uk, post them to Cath Ball, WWII memories, Oldham Council, Civic Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1UH, or drop them off at Oldham’s Tommyfield Market Hall, Albion Street, Oldham, OL1 3BG.
