Residents contact us regularly asking for enforcement action to tackle the reckless drivers who speed on our roads. But did you know that at least THREE SEPARATE collisions involving deaths or serious injuries have to happen on a road before a fixed speed camera can be installed?

This is shocking! It’s incredibly frustrating that the criteria for installing speed cameras is severely restricted by current Government guidelines. I believe that one serious injury on the road is one too many and we should not have to wait until a death to take enforcement action on dangerous drivers.

We are calling for the criteria for speed cameras to be reviewed and updated to be fit for purpose for today’s roads and problems. Will you support me and sign our petition?
