We have just received notification that the special meeting that had been called for Oldham Council has been cancelled, following the delays in agreeing the document between two Labour-held councils, Tameside and Stockport.

This now brings the number of delays to the process to seven – with a major planning review going through the works which could mean that the whole thing will be scrapped in just a few years. It was originally intended that it would last until 2037, but with it now not due to be approved until 2022 at the earliest, who knows what will happen.
